Vegan/Gluten-Free Strawberry Apple Crisp

6 organic gala apples, cubed
16 oz package of organic strawberries halved
1 1/2 cups flour (almond flour may be substituted here)
2 cups large flake oats (gluten-free oats can be subsituted)
1/4 cup white sugar
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 cup butter (I used Earth Balance to make this vegan)
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°
- Spray an 11×7 baking pan with oil.
- In mixing bowl combine apples, strawberries, white sugar and nutmeg. Toss gently and then place in baking pan.
- Combine oats, flour, brown sugar, butter and cinnamon into a bowl. Using a fork, mix together, gently breaking butter down into the flour mixture.
- Place on top of fruit.
- Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.
- Turn oven on to broil for about three minutes, until the top is golden brown.
- Let cool for 20 minutes before devouring.
