Vegan/Gluten-Free Strawberry Apple Crisp

Ingredients

  • 6 organic gala apples, cubed

  • 16 oz package of organic strawberries halved

  • 1 1/2 cups flour (almond flour may be substituted here)

  • 2 cups large flake oats (gluten-free oats can be subsituted)

  • 1/4 cup white sugar

  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar

  • 1 cup butter (I used Earth Balance to make this vegan)

  • 2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp nutmeg

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350°
  • Spray an 11×7 baking pan with oil.

  • In mixing bowl combine apples, strawberries, white sugar and nutmeg. Toss gently and then place in baking pan.

  • Combine oats, flour, brown sugar, butter and cinnamon into a bowl. Using a fork, mix together, gently breaking butter down into the flour mixture.
  • Place on top of fruit.
  • Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.
  • Turn oven on to broil for about three minutes, until the top is golden brown.
  • Let cool for 20 minutes before devouring.
