Diary of an Angry Pregnant Woman

Week 16

Uh, I guess there really is such a thing as “pregnancy brain” because I completely forgot about this blog.

The second trimester has been much easier then the first; no morning sickness, I have way more energy and I don’t look fat–I look pregnant.

The “pregnancy brain” has been affecting me more lately. I made Twice Baked Potatoes for a 4th of July BBQ, and they came out a little strange. I cooked the potatoes, cut them and removed their insides. Usually, I toss them in the food processor to make them nice and creamy. Unfortunately, the mixer was out on the counter, and for some reason I thought this was a good mechanism to mash my potatoes. They never got smooth…they just got lumpy and the ingredients weren’t really mixing in. I chalked it up to me over/under cooking the potatoes. It took me three hours, mid-TV watching, to realize that I had put them in the wrong machine.

The baby is moving all of the time now. Her feet are obviously facing down, because she karate kicks my abdomen at all hours of the day. It feels a little strange to have her moving so much, and sometimes it can be hard to hold  a conversation when she’s kicking me in the belly button. But it’s really nice to know she’s there, practicing to be a ballerina…or perhaps a quarterback.
