Trying out Cleancult; an eco-friendly alternative

**For every purchase of a Cleancult product, this blog gets a kickback. It helps to keep us afloat and pay our bills.

I am constantly trying to do my part to make my household as eco-friendly as possible. But it’s hard. And it can be expensive.

I have three little kids and I’m not a millionaire. I want easy, affordable solutions to my everyday plastic problems. And that’s where Cleancult comes in. I have slowly been going throughout the house trying to switch out any one-use plastic and substituting it out for something sustainable.

My latest project? SOAPS.

My kids are dirty little bastards. They need to wash their hands approximately 45 times a day and I do a lot of dishes. But all the handsoaps (even the refills) come in giant plastic containers.

Furthermore, I have to do a lot of scrubbing so I need a cleaning product that cleans but whose chemical content won’t make my children grow tails.

There is oatmeal caked onto the dining room chairs, chocolate stuck to every cabinet, and browned-banana smudges trail across my tiles. (Don’t judge me on how dirty my house gets. It’s not my fault. Ok, maybe it is. But still.)

This is how I discovered Cleancult.

Cleancult has an array of products and I bought them all. Dish soap, hand soap, cleaning shit, laundry detergent, laundry balls (this sounds kinky but apparently they are more useful than the anatomical kind.)

There are different ways to start this process:

1.) You can buy a full kit from Cleancult which includes glass bottles that you only have to buy once. These bottles are reusable and will cover all of your soapy needs.

2.) You may already own your own bottles, so you can skip right to the fun part and purchase only the soap. Refill your containers with Cleancult‘s natural, coconut powdered formulas in 100% recyclable packaging. This bundle has free shipping and includes a funnel at no cost, so you don’t spill your precious soap all over your dirty floor.

Plus, your first bar of soap included is free! This Refill Starter Kit Bundle is easy on the earth and your wallet. Both of those are wins, baby.

Many of you are friends of mine in real life, so I ain’t gonna lie to you because you know where I live. Let’s quickly go over what I think are the pros and cons of Cleancult.

PROS:

-eco-friendly boxing

-eco-friendly shipping

-easy to refill (mine came with a little funnel to get the stuff from the box to my soap dispenser)

-hand soap works and smells great

-dish soap works and smells great

-love the smell of the orange cleaner

-laundry detergent actually works!

CONS:

-not cheap. I want to be eco-friendly so badly and I will pay a little more to do so. But the hand soap, for example, will refill about 1.5 of my soap bottles and it costs $6.75. I wish these products were more comparable with your regular soaps

-the starter kit gave me laundry detergent with no smell. I need some SMELL. This isn’t a deal-breaker for me but I’d like to see one with an added flavor

I like Cleancult because they’re eco-friendly but also because their products work. As a smell-person, I would appreciate there being more of a distinct odor coming from everything to make me feel like it is working. But I just put a couple of drops of lemon essential oils and BOOM. Problem solved.
